Crimson Sorrow unveil their third EP: The Black Waltz
Released May 5 — A gothic rock descent into beauty, decay, and theatrical gloom.
Crimson Sorrow, the Hungarian gothic rock ensemble praised for their dark romanticism and evocative lyricism, released their third EP, The Black Waltz, on May 5. Building on the momentum of their previous works, this new collection of three songs is both a lament and a celebration — a graceful descent into theatrical sorrow and melodic despair.
Each track spins a cinematic tale, blending morbid beauty with emotional weight:
„Midnight Veil” opens the record with fevered intensity. Laced with poisoned desire and cyclical tragedy, the song captures a relationship collapsing under the weight of obsession. It’s a slow dance in a crumbling ballroom, where every kiss leaves ash behind.
„Midnight Masquerade” transports the listener to a decaying gala trapped outside of time. As the strings rise and fall, faded costumes swirl through a ritual of forgotten faces and eternal roles. It’s an ode to vanity, ritual, and the finality behind the façade.
„The Midnight Train” closes the EP with a chilling journey through memory and mortality. Set to the pulse of a ghostly locomotive, it follows a one-way path to the past — where names are lost, and farewells are final. It is the final ticket punched in silence.
Fusing timeless gothic sensibilities with cinematic arrangements and a voice that mourns and mesmerizes, The Black Waltz invites the listener into Crimson Sorrow’s world — not as a visitor, but as a participant. It is not merely a record; it is a waltz performed at the edge of the abyss.
